Crafting with fabric scraps – three ideas for little hands
Old pieces of fabric can be given new life and turned into colorful craft projects.
So always save your fabric scraps! Cut up worn-out clothes and other textiles from your home that have done their job and put them in the craft box – they are like little colorful treasures waiting to become something new. Crafting with fabric is both creative, environmentally friendly and fun. Here are three ideas to try:
- Fabric crowns – cut out a crown shape, sew or glue two layers of fabric together and decorate with sequins or fabric pieces. Little mini princes and princesses come to life.
- Mini pillows – sew small squares together, fill with batting or fabric scraps and use as decorations or for toys that may need a rest.
- Fabric collage – glue pieces of fabric onto cardboard and create patterns, animals or landscapes. Creativity flows here, there is no such thing as completely right or wrong. Go all in!
Tip: Let the children choose the colors and shapes themselves. It is always most personal and playful when creativity is allowed to take control, it is not the result that is most important, but the play and imagination! And best of all – the crafts become memories you can keep for a long time.
