The children's first tennis match – a playful start!
Tennis is a sport full of energy, coordination and joy. Here are some tips on how to make your child's first tennis match a fun experience that encourages movement.
🎾 Why tennis is good for children? Tennis trains speed, balance and concentration – but above all, it's fun. The game can be adapted to age and level, and children can play their way up to the technique. Maybe you yourself can even take advantage of the opportunity to learn or hone your serve 😉
How to make the match playful:
- Adapt the plan – use half a court, the garden or a marked square on the asphalt.
- Soft start – play with soft balls and junior rackets.
- Skip the points – in the beginning, it's enough to count hits instead of points.
Playful exercises:
- Ten hits in a row – count how many times you get the ball over without it bouncing twice.
- Hit the target – set out a cone or a bucket and try to aim there.
-
Team play – play doubles and take turns hitting the ball.
